This simple but fun home wedding in the northern suburbs of Brisbane was full of laughter, smiles and plenty of sunshine.
The wedding took place in early February, however I have been so busy that I haven’t had time to sit and blog! It has been such a great month for me; 4 weddings, 2 portrait sessions and an event to keep me on my toes.
This couple, who had been together for 18 years and had two almost adult sons, decided to follow their hearts and hold a home wedding, held in the grounds of their back garden. It was a beautiful day, the sun was extremely high and hot but everyone was out in force to enjoy the celebrations. People had travelled from far and wide and were enjoying the weekend by camping in the family’s garden.
Everything was home made – from the flowers to the cake, from the trees planted 15 years ago to the outside area built by Rob. Dawn was incredibly nervous beforehand and there were lots of tears. She was given away by her eldest son and given a gift from her great-nan of handkerchiefs that she herself was given on her wedding day some forty years ago.
Congratulations to the happy couple, Dawn & Robbie.
